Five Nordic PhD candidates have been selected to partake in an exclusive Masterclass with Holberg Laureate Stephen Greenblatt.

The topic of conversation is “Origin Stories.” Why have humans needed to construct accounts of our earliest beginnings—accounts that are inescapably speculative—and what is at stake in different versions? How do products of the imagination take on the substance of reality, and what work do they do for us?

Participants:

Mark Friis Hau, University of Aarhus
Panu Heimonen, University of Helsinki
Yoav Tirosh, University of Iceland
Carlos Hernández Garcés, University of Oslo
Godelinde Gertrude Perk, Umeå University

The discussion will be in English.
